My Writing Goals

My writing goals include honing my craft, digging into my current WIP (a novel about magical teens & ghosts who love them), and readying a chapter book for beta readers.

Writing Sample from WIP, Aunt Lucy's POV

Aunt Lucy:

I peer under the trailer before picking a few of the ripe tomatoes. I drop several in the pockets of my pajama pants and shove several more into my mouth. Miss Winters walks by with her yippy little dog in tow. She looks at me and sniffs, eyebrows raised. Miss Winters probably isn't any older than me, but she looks ancient with her tightly curled, orange-dyed hair and smoker's mouth, wrinkled like an anus in the middle of her face. Today, she's wearing bright pink blush powdered over her pale white skin. She looks like an uptight vampire. "Morning Miss Winters!" I call out cheerily. Juice and seeds from the tomatoes dribble out of my mouth, over my chin.

Publications List

My short fiction has been published eMuse, Powder Burn Flash, the Ranfurly Review and Bright Flash Literary Review. One of my stories was a finalist for Glimmertrain’s November 2007 Short Story Award and I was the proud recipient of a 2017 Sentient Squid scholarship for the Writing the Other 8-Day Intensive Workshop. My nonfiction work includes articles for Oak Services, LLC's website; countless uncredited plans and manuals for environmental remediation projects; and several (un-bylined) articles on pet-care roaming the vast interwebs. My middle-grade sci-fi novella, "The Pied Piper of St. May" is available on Amazon.
