The Summer Write-A-Thon with Clarion West is Completed !
Rather Amazingly, I've completed this challenge. My sincere thanks to my sponsors, and to the Peers of Emelan who've become dear comrades in writing. I'm looking forward to many more discussions with you.
My Great Appreciation to the Incredibly Supportive staff of Clarion West, for enabling this overflowing cornucopia of Inspiration, Learning, and Opportunity to take place. Thanks also to the workshop instructors, your guidance, challenges, and inspiration have cast light upon the paths ahead.

Week Four is Under way !

Here's an excerpt from one of my stories from Week Three.
"A Return to the World” by Marcus B.
Tyr felt encircling restraints about xyr. The rocking of the transport felt like the drop-ship xe and xyr cohort rode into the battle at Spindrift. Images returned. The training for the Fire-Spheres. The terror of atmospheric training drops. Xe clawed for controls that weren't present in the prisoner clamshell. The closeness, the tightness of the space felt so similar.
Where was the control interface ? The tactile controls were missing. Tyr no longer saw the status message : "Citizen Tyr is presently aboard the courier ship Lightning Wave now approaching Guardian Moon station."
The temperature ! Tyr remembered the Fire-Sphere, heat permeating through concentric layers, heating the waters to perilous temperatures. Xe’d cook within the Sphere surely... Xe couldn't perish yet... no... xe had to impact the enemy. Controls not responding, no - xe had no controls... Capsule pressure was increasing. Would xe cook or be crushed first ? Tyr began to thrash within the confinement shell. Xyr hearts fluttered. Xe kicked for emergency release but the prisoner clam shell holding xyr was not a Fire-Sphere and there was no emergency release.
