In 2010 I almost lost my life during a complicated pregnancy that ended in the loss of my daughter. A month after that traumatic series of events another round ensued. Four blood clots were found in my lungs (Pulmonary Emboli or PEs) causing several infarctions and tissue death. It was discovered that I had a blood clotting disorder called Antiphospholipid Syndrome. It was the reason for my pregnancy complications and the PEs.
I started a lifelong treatment of anticoagulant therapy to prevent another clotting event. I have suffered from multiple TIAs, neurological issues, brain fog, fatigue, acute hearing, vision, and memory loss, chronic pain, pleurisy, superficial thrombophlebitis, and mental health issues.
I would love to do anything I can to help raise awareness and funding for the prevention and treatment of blood clots.
