Prayers are answered in one of three ways. They can be answered immediately, they can be answered later or they won't be answered at all. My prayer for years has been to just be healthy, live a good life for God and finally to be an encouragement to others. I try to read my Bible everyday and live like God wants me to. I also try to encourage others to look on the bright side of things because our hope is in God, not in ourself. The last prayer for health has been a struggle, since birth I've had many health issues. I never thought of myself as different , so I always persevered and moved forward. My mom said when I was born that I possibly had Spina Bifida .I had surgery on both ankles when I was 5 years old because I couldn't walk correctly. I was given a 50/50 chance to walk . Many years later I had to have corrective surgery on my right ankle again. Later I noticed it was really hard to stay in correct posture. My head and shoulders felt like they were 50lbs each. It took all my strength to stand up straight. Then my hip started hurting and I noticed my right leg felt longer than my left one. I went for radiographs and found I had bone on bone degeneration. I also at this time started having tremors and tingling in both legs. This I knew from my Medical training that was neuropathy but I didn't know why I was having it. Earlier this year , we were moving into our new house and while I was trying to move furniture I started losing grip in my hands. This terrified me because I have always been extremely strong in my arms and hands. I made an appointment with my doctor who immediately sent me to do a nerve conduction test. The results were something that doctor had never seen. I knew that this was something that a Mayo Clinic Neurologist needed to see. So after another EMG , I was diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease. This answered so many questions from the Spina Bifida, ankle surgeries, hip , leg tremors and even loss of grip, they are all related. Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) is one of the most common inherited neurological disorders, affecting approximately 1 in 2,500 people in the United States. CMT, also known as hereditary peroneal muscular atrophy, comprises a group of disorders that affect peripheral nerves. The peripheral nerves lie outside the brain and spinal cord and supply the muscles and sensory organs in the limbs. My peripheral nerves have no covering or Myelin, so the signal doesn't get to my peripheral nerves. Most people that I have researched that have this disease eventually are not able to walk without help of a cane or wheelchair. They also can lose their ability to swallow, breathe or even use the bathroom. By God's grace and your help I plan on living a full life without handicaps or restrictions. Please donate as your heart leads you to and know that you are helping so many including me. I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤️
