Everyone knows that growing up is one of the most difficult parts of life. We all want to stay kids forever and enjoy our school days with recess and birthday treats! Change is never easy, especially when it involves moving away from home and living on your own for the first time. This is why College Mentors for Kids was created. CMFK is an organization dedicated to exposing kids in elementary school to the wonders and joys of college by having them spend 2 hours a week on a college campus.
During these 2 hours, we play games, enjoy snacks, and learn important lessons from various on-campus organizations. Our goal is not to convince kids to go to college but to give them some experience so that they can decide whether the college life is for them. We do this all with absolutely no cost to the children and their families, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to experience life on a college campus.
This is where I need your help. Because this is all paid for by our organization, we rely on fundraising to help us. Your donation will help to pay for transportation to and from school for our "little buddies" (as we like to call them) and help pay for the snacks. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will directly go to ensure that our little buddies have the best experience possible.
I chose to become a mentor because I remember how when I was in middle school, I had a high school mentor who encouraged me to try new things out of my comfort zone and gave me all of his advice on how best to navigate through high school. That is exactly what I want to be for my little buddy. I want him to get comfortable with being on a college campus and learn all that he can about college. Your donation can help me provide the best possible experience for him. Thank you.
