As the baby boomer generation continues to age, senior hunger in the United States has become a growing concern. In Northwest NC alone, 1 in 6 seniors faces hunger, struggling to make ends meet and afford basic necessities such as food. The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated this issue, causing financial strain for many families and individuals. However, there are ways to make a difference in the lives of seniors facing hunger. By supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, you can help ensure that those in need have access to nutritious food and vital resources.

The impact of senior hunger on the health and well-being of individuals cannot be overstated. Hunger can lead to malnutrition, which in turn can cause other health problems. For seniors, malnutrition can increase the risk of falls, hospitalization, and other health issues. It can also exacerbate chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Providing seniors with access to nutritious food can help prevent these health problems and improve their overall quality of life.

Help Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC ensure that our seniors' years are golden.

Your gift of any size will combine with others to have a transformative impact in the lives of seniors throughout Northwest NC.
