Cards Against Cancer

Cards Against Cancer

Welcome to My Fundraising Page!

My name is Izumi Vazquez and I am from San Antonio, Texas. I have always been interested in the medical field, spend my summers volunteering at local hospitals, and aspire to be a pediatric oncologist.

In Japan, it was once believed that if one folded 1,000 origami paper cranes, one's wish would come true. The journey of folding 1,000 origami paper cranes is a process that inspires many across the world as the cranes are representative of healing and hope.

I would love to use this time to make a difference by hand folding 2,000 origami paper cranes in honor of the approximately 2,000 children who pass away from cancer in the U.S. every year, with the wish to find a cure for pediatric cancers.

I will fold one origami paper crane for every dollar donated to my fundraiser until the $2,000 goal is met.

I then plan on stringing the origami paper cranes with colorful beads and donating the paper cranes to a children’s hospital in honor of the 2,000 children who continue to fly beyond cancer.

A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated, and your contribution truly means the world to me. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day!

With love,

Izumi Vazquez
