Service-dog Training and Education Program at University of Central Florida is the largest college club partnered with Canine Companions to raise future service dogs and educate our community about service dog and disability etiquette! Since our founding in 2016, STEP has raised more than 100 puppies. This could not be possible as full time college students without the community we have built in STEP@UCF and in the Orlando area, and we could not be more proud to be a part of DogFest 2026 to help the Canine Companions Community grow.

In partnership with Canine Companions, STEP @ UCF is proud to help raise expertly trained service dogs who are then provided to individuals with disabilities throughout the Southeast region. This incredible program gives recipients life-changing independence entirely free of charge. As a completely volunteer-based organization, our members raise these exceptional pups from the ages of 2 to 16 months, dedicating themselves to socializing them and teaching them 30 basic commands to ensure they enter their advanced professional training fully prepared to serve their future matches.

To expand our reach and give back even more, STEP @ UCF has set an ambitious goal to raise $25,000 total for Canine Companions. We know it is a major milestone, but with the community's support, we truly believe we can achieve it! By reaching this goal, STEP@UCF will be able to celebrate Space U by bringing home citro-"Naut" and have our newest little mascot be raised at UCF.

Every donation received during this event will enable us to change lives and every donation, no matter how small is very appreciated and will help us reach our goal.
