Hello.  For those of you who don't know me, my name is Karen Burke and I am a graduate of Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Michigan.  I received my first Leader Dog in 1994 and I now have my third dog Shadow who is a little black Labrador.  I also volunteer in the Canine Development Center as a canine support assistant helping take care of dogs who have been returned from their puppy raisers to get them acclimated to living in a different environment.  I am  a member of the Royal Oak Lions Club who also play a huge role in supporting this organization.  

On September 22, I will be participating in an event called the Double Dog Dare, and will be repelling down a 15 story building.  I decided to do the Double Dog Dare  challenge as I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone.  While I am not afraid of heights, I want to prove to others they can do just about anything with or without a disability and keep a positive attitude.  Please consider making a donation in the link below to help me support Leader dogs for the Blind as they have a huge impact in my life, as well as other individuals who are visually impaired and totally blind.
