Why I Walk

This will be my 4th walk in honor of my son Nick, since his tragic accidental death in May 20, 2016. I walk to educate people on the tragic disease of Addiction as well as to help alleviate the Stigma associated with it. It’s time to STOP judging and start healing! Nick loved life, family and his friends. He actually wanted to help people suffering with Addiction and struggling youth. Nick never hesitated sharing his story and struggle, if it could help someone. Nick was a strong young man with a heart of gold. He would literally take the shirt off his back and give it to someone who needed it. ( He actually did several times with his coat and shirt). He was a strong young man who fought SO hard. Addiction does NOT discriminate! The Demon starts off very innocently, either thru an injury, depression, parties, etc. I’m taking Nick’s lead by inviting Friends and Family to join us as we walk. You do NOT have to donate to walk and you do not have to walk to donate. I walk for the love of my son and for all of the other Mothers that live each day missing a child to this disease. Our babies are not supposed to go before us! Please help me as I try to educate others, help people understand the disease and help end the stigma and judgment. #end the stigma #stop judging #start healing
