My Story

Hey everyone! I have always had a passion for educating people about their medications in general. Being a future pharmacist, the Opioid Crisis will be apart of my everyday life, however, it has already been in my life since I was mcuh younger. My mom starting abusing prescription drugs around the time I was eight years old. She started out overusing opioid prescriptions and found herself constantly needing more and years later she started using heroin. On August 15, 2018 my mom died of a heroin overdose.

A portion of all Walk proceeds will be used to provide scholarships for substance abuse treatment. Join us at Veterans Park in Hoover as we walk for those we have lost, for those in recovery and for those who have yet to find recovery. We are walking to raise awareness to the substance abuse epidemic we are facing. There will be Pharmacy students from Samford University handing out and counseling on free Naloxone nasal spray which is a opioid overdose antidote.
