I witness the impact FriendshipWorks makes on the lives of older adults and their volunteer matches when I have the opportunity to gather the stories as part of my job. I have also had the opportunity to be a Medical Escort myself (one of our five programs). I didn't think it was such a big deal to accompany someone to a medical appointment, but I have seen the difference it makes in someone's life emotionally and how it has a positive affect on their health trajectory.
