This year, donations to MCW's FAER Academic Giving campaign team will honor the magnificent career of Dr. Thomas Ebert. Dr. Ebert was recruited to the Department by former Chair, John P. Kampine, MD, PhD, in 1987. Since then, he has had a remarkable journey in his career, becoming a recognized leader in our specialty and representing MCW's Department of Anesthesiology both nationally and internationally. Not only has Dr. Ebert contributed to our understanding of IV and volatile anesthetics through his research endeavors, but he also led the residency program for a decade, during which time he recruited several hundred residents into training and helped shape their education. He has been a strong advocate for our military veterans and a leader at the Zablocki Veteran's hospital for more than a decade.

Over the years, Dr. Ebert has received funding from FAER to mentor young investigators and explore innovative resident feedback processes. Tom is now a longstanding supporter of the mission of FAER - and specifically, this fundraising campaign - to support students, residents and faculty in their pursuit of scientific knowledge. 

Your donation to FAER will recognize Dr. Ebert's many contributions to MCW and the VA. Your contributions also help us compete for the top spot - if we win, this would be the 3rd year in a row! - for total dollars raised during the Academic Giving Campaign. We've been privileged to welcome two FAER-sponsored Visiting Professors for winning the competition, Dr. Michael Gropper in 2023 and Dr. Rebecca Aslakson in 2024. We'd love to be able to welcome another in 2025!
