I have been with the Foundation for Geauga Parks for over 15 years.

I began as the Secretary when we were the Geauga Park District Foundation in 2005 through 2013.

As a transplant to Geauga County in 1993, I have come to love the wonderful parks we have throughout the County.

When the organization became the Foundation for Geauga Parks, I again embraced the mission. We now support all the parks throughout the County.

The Foundation has not only partnered with local parks like financing the trails at Scenic Retreat in Munson township but also has continued to finance & support the programs though the Geauga Park District.

We have financed the Naturescopes program for 15+ years which has given binoculars & field guides to every 5th grade class. It was wonderful when I was able to meet 2 Kenston HS seniors who were volunteering for the Naturescopes program in 2018 who still had their binoculars from 5th grade & both were pursing the sciences in their college studies.

Even in this virtual/in school world, teachers have requested the Naturescopes program to continue this year. The Foundation has also supported Virtual Nature bins created by the GPD naturalists. These are distributed to schoold around Geauga County & supported with Virtual programs with the GPD naturalists.

We would love to see everyone get outside however even if you can't there are still so many things to see online.
