I’m using my opportunity of running the Boston Marathon in April to support a very important cause. I'm raising money in honor of my grandpa Wyley, who is fighting colon cancer, as well as my extended family and others who face the risk of this terrible disease.
This cause is deeply personal to my family because we carry the hereditary condition that increases the risk of developing colorectal cancer.
Today, this disease is affecting more people than ever. The incidence of early onset colorectal cancer is expected to increase by more than 140% by 2030, and 25%-30% of CRC patients have a family history of the disease.
