Kidsave Texas recruits interested hosts and introduces them to foster youth in the Houston area during structured and safe weekend events.

The program gives youth a voice and the choice, a true say in their futures.  

At the end of each event - which are currently virtual --  children evaluate the prospective hosts and indicate who’d they like to get to know better. Having any choice is something new to most kids in foster care.  Host families also appreciate this because they can volunteer to host without the lengthy review process that comes with traditional fostering. It also provides a great entryway for families interested in domestic adoption. In this way, relationships can blossom and lead to "permanency" for most of these youth.
