Is He Crazy?

David Jones was born April 18, 1940. Who would have predicted then that on his 80th birthday, instead of a big party with family, the only way he'd be able to celebrate would be alone. Alone with his treadmill. But wait! How fortuitous that this April 18 is the date of Northern Illinois Food Bank's Foodie 5K! A "foodie" my dad is not (although he knows a good pecan pie when he sees one), but he sure is crazy about raising money for a great cause.

Will you honor my dad by supporting us?

Northern Illinois Food Bank provides food and other essential items to more than half a million people every year, and that number will only increase in coming weeks and months due to job losses.

My dad will walk in Rockford on his treadmill. (He's threatening to do a Facebook livestream of him just walking for an hour...) I will walk in Carol Stream. Would you sponsor us for this most unusual birthday celebration?

You'd honor him and his life of giving AND you'd make a difference in the lives of the hundreds of thousands of people in Northern Illinois who are hungry now... and who will be in the coming months.
