Widowed Parent Relief Project is near and dear to my heart. When my mom was 34 years old, my father was killed in a car accident on their 14th wedding anniversary. In an instant, my mother became a young widow with an 11 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. We were surrounded by wonderful friends and family, but it would have been so nice if my mom could have been blessed by a group like WPRP. Helping alleviate everyday stressors so widowed parents can spend more time on their family's mental health and healing, helping build an enduring support system, offering paid services such as regular cleaning services and home organizing, connecting a parent with a family friend volunteer who walks alongside the parent for one year....these are just a few of the ways that WPRP cares for widowed families.
