As many of you know I am the Development Director at Gilda's Club South Florida. So hitting my goal of $1,000 has always been important to me as I get to see where these dollars go. I get to see the smiles, laughter and hope that these donations will bring to so many people impacted by cancer.

This year I am even more passionate to hit and exceed my goal as I am doing it in memory of my friend Adrienne Martell who passed away this year from Cancer. Although we had lost touch for many years she was someone very special to me in my life at such a pivotal time. At a time in my life many years ago where I didn't see value in myself, she was the one that was there to tell me differently. She truly saved my life and for that, I will always be grateful to have had her as a friend even if it was for a short time.

Just like Gilda Adrienne had such an inspiring and amazing spirit about her. She always tried to keep her big beautiful smile on her face and always found a reason to laugh. Everything she did, she did it with love. Adrienne was a truly amazing friend, daughter, sister, cousin and especially the best mom.

Every dollar raised will go to more families and strong, incredible women like Adrienne. So no one has to face cancer alone.
