I’m thrilled to be participating in ‎Fueling Student Transformation, a fundraiser supporting Horizons National Student Enrichment Program! I'm raising money for the Horizons Atlanta site at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School- the first and oldest Horizons site in the region.

If you aren’t familiar with Horizons,  the Horizons Atlanta at HIES program provides academic enrichment, swim lessons, recreational activities, and social-emotional learning for K-8th public school students in Sandy Springs who qualify for free and reduced price lunch programs. It also provides a sense of community and belonging for our students and their families.

I am proud to serve on the Advisory Council for our site and know firsthand that Horizons works. I started my journey with Horizons as a classroom volunteer in 2015, and have been heavily involved in Horizons at HIES ever since. With the help of the Global Citizenship program at Holy Innocents, in 2017 I was able to start Broader Horizons; an extension program at our site for High School students.

Over just six weeks of summer, our students gain, on average 8-12 weeks of growth in their reading and math skills - sending them back to school in the fall excited and ready to learn.
