Horizons National addresses educational inequity through a long-term, relationship-based model that supports students from Pre-K through high school. Our tuition-free summer programs combine academics, enrichment, athletics, arts, swimming, mentorship, and social-emotional learning in a joyful environment with small class sizes and strong adult support. More than a short-term intervention, Horizons builds lasting relationships with students and families that help children develop confidence, resilience, curiosity, and a lifelong connection to learning.

What makes Horizons especially powerful is that its impact is both measurable and deeply human. Students gain 7–12 weeks in reading and math skills each summer, helping counter the “summer learning loss” that disproportionately affects children from under-resourced communities — equating to roughly 2.5 additional years of learning for students who remain in the program from kindergarten through eighth grade. Independent studies also show stronger attendance, higher academic performance, fewer disciplinary referrals, and better long-term outcomes than comparable peers. More than 90% of Horizons students graduate from high school and are 50% more likely to attend college.
