In 2024, I sat next to my mother's hospital bed for the last 2 days of her life, and among the many thoughts running through my head, one of the clearest was, "I really don't want to die in a hospital!"
Hospice of the Upstate provides home-based care for seriously and terminally ill patients and their families in 7 counties of SC. WCSC has raised over $1.5m over the last 20 years. All of the money raised from this event is dedicated to patients who can not afford end of life care. It's a great way to make a difference.
