'Ignite the Future: Campaign to Clear the Way' is a fundraising campaign to support the PCD Foundation. It is the PCD Foundation's first ever comprehensive campaign to expand existing clinical care and research networks, provide education and develop a therapeutic network to facilitate and support clinical trials aimed at better understanding, treating, and curing PCD.

The campaign has an ambitious goal of raising $5 million over three years to fund our most ambitious initiatives, and we are over halfway there! We are asking our community to help us raise $50,000 toward this goal in 2026 by donating, registering to host a fundraising page or by organizing an event of your own. 

Together, we have an opportunity to help transform what is possible for people living with PCD. By investing in research, strengthening connections among clinicians and researchers, and expanding access to education and specialized care, this campaign is helping to lay the groundwork for meaningful advances in the years ahead. Every dollar brings us one step closer to a future where people with PCD have more answers, more treatment options, and greater hope.

This campaign is about more than reaching a fundraising goal—it’s about building momentum for the entire PCD community. Every effort and every contribution, regardless of size, fuels our ability to expand our efforts and ignite change!

About the Cause

Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) is an inherited disease that affects cilia - tiny, hair-like structures that line the respiratory tract, middle and inner ear, reproductive organs and ventricles of the brain. When ciliary function is lost, it can cause breathing problems, chronic infections, and other disorders. The impact of this damage, especially in the lungs, can be devastating.

The PCD Foundation was started in 2002 to address severe unmet needs in the PCD patient community, and to provide the leadership and resources needed to support increased research, accelerated diagnosis, improved health, and ultimately, a cure for PCD. 

Together, our three programs — our Clinical and Research Centers Network, Registry Programs, and newly launched Clinical Trials Network — work to advance research, expand access to leading clinical care, and accelerate the development of new treatments for patients.
