WHAT IS 'IGNITE THE FUTURE: CAMPAIGN TO CLEAR THE WAY'?

'Ignite the Future' is a fundraising campaign to support the PCD Foundation. It is the PCD Foundation's first ever comprehensive campaign to expand existing clinical care and research networks, provide education and develop a therapeutic network to facilitate and support clinical trials aimed at better understanding, treating, and curing PCD. 

The campaign has an ambitious goal of raising $5 million over three years (2025 - 2027) to fund our most ambitious initiatives. We are asking our community to help us raise $50,000 toward this goal in 2025 by donating, registering to host a fundraising page or by organizing an event of your own. 

The campaign is built on three core pillars that reflect the heart of our mission:

• ​Healthier Future - Frontier programs that advance scientific investigation and clinical trials to ensure a healthier future.
• Optimizing Clinical Care - Specialized care and accelerated research aimed at promising interventions and cures.
• Community Support - Strengthening and supporting our patient population, ensuring each voice is heard and all have the opportunity to thrive.

WHAT CAN I DO?

Participating is easy! 

You can donate. 

You can create a fundraising page that you are able to customize and share with your family and friends. Simply register as an 'individual', which will allow you to create your personalized page. 

You can create a team, where your network can join you in raising funds and awareness for PCD. As a team leader, you can host any type of event - it can be as simple as inviting folks to donate, sending a letter, hosting a virtual walk. The sky is the limit!

 

WILL I GET A CHARITABLE TAX RECEIPT FOR MY DONATION?

All donations made through our online fundraising page with all the required information (full name and complete address) will automatically receive a charitable tax receipt by email. If you have a question about your tax receipt, please contact us at infor@pcdfoundation.org.

CAN I COLLECT CASH OR CHECKS? 

As a virtual challenge participant and fundraiser, you have the option of accepting cash and/or checks from your friends. To enter offline donations, go to your fundraising dashboard.. On the left side click on 'My Donations'. Under the title 'Donations Received', click on 'add cash or check' and follow the prompts. Please be sure to send offline donations to the PCD Foundation at 10023 Morris Road, Bloomington, MN 55437, as you receive them.  Once the funds are received, we will confirm. 

 

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN WITHOUT HOSTING A FUNDRAISING PAGE OR EVENT?

You do not have to create a fundraising page or host an event to support ‘Ignite the Future: Campaign to Clear the Way’. Philanthropic support plays a vital role in supporting our programs that drive research, and we are incredibly grateful for donations in support of our important mission.

You can make a gift by clicking ‘Donate’ at the top of your screen or any of the 'Donate Now' buttons. If you would like to donate towards a participant's or team's fundraising goal, simply click ‘Choose someone’ and then use the search feature to find their name. Once you have, click on the 'Support' button to the right of  their name and follow the prompts.

 

HOW DO I INVITE SOMEONE TO JOIN (REGISTER)?

On the left of your personal page, team page, and the homepage, there is a 'Share My Page' button. Click on that and follow the prompts. This is to share your personal page or team page via e-mail, Facebook or X. To invite someone to join your team, Click on 'Our Team' on the left side of your proflie page. Click on 'Ask Others To Join' and follow the prompts.

WHEN CAN I FUNDRAISE OR HOST AN EVENT ON BEHALF OF THE PCD FOUNDATION?

Thank you for your interest in supporting the PCD Foundation! Fundraising takes place throughout the year, and we would love to partner to support your efforts at a time that is convenient for you. 

We see a lot of activity in October during PCD Awareness Month - a dedicated time for PCD families, advocates and supporters of the PCD Foundation to come together to raise awareness and funds for primary ciliary dyskinesia. We are thrilled to partner with you during that special month, but the needs of the PCD community exist throughout the year, and we are available anytime to discuss how we can help support your fundraising efforts on behalf of the PCD Foundation. This peer-to-peer fundraising software is also available for your use throughout the year to help you plan and communicate with friends and family and reach your fundraising goals!
