Tools and Resources

To get started with your fundraiser, use the resources below.  Start your unique fundraising page and get others involved just by sharing a link! These pages are your own and can be customized for individual and team pages. They make it easy to share stories of the girls you are helping with your friends and family. We will be by your side for every step of the journey!

Here are some tips to get you started!

Social media is a great way to share your story with friends, family and coworkers, and encourage their support. By making a simple request, you’re inviting them to fight beside you against the water and gender inequity crisis. Imagine the difference we can make, together.

  • Tell your story - what is your goal and why this event is important to you?
  • Encourage your friends - to join your team, make a donation or volunteer
  • Educate and inspire - share about the global water and gender crisis on your page
  • Share the link for your personal fundraising page for the walk in every post
  • Use hashtags to share your story: #iwalkforgirlsandwater #dayofthegirl and remember to tag us, @womenserve, so we can see your walk progress and for a chance to be featured on our page

You can start and complete your walk (or activity of choice) between Wednesday, September 30th and Friday, October 9th. Complete your goal any time you choose between those dates.

What is the Walk for Girls and Water?
It’s a virtual movement for change that’s connected virtually! You can walk, paint, dance, sing or participate in any way you like, at your own convenience and wherever you like. Go for a run, walk, ride or hike while keeping your distance from others. Send us a picture of you in action and we’ll post it to our Facebook event page or feature you on Instagram.

What am I raising money for?
Join WomenServe’s first virtual #iwalkforgirlsandwater movement by registering or donating to the Walk for Girls and Water! All funds raised by this event will fund WomenServe’s programs for girls and women who need water and vital resources like sanitation and hygiene.

Why virtual?
Due to the collective health risks we are facing from coronavirus, we have cancelled our in-person Day of the Girl event. To achieve our COVID-19 relief fundraising goal, we’re asking you to virtually walk with us to the Day of the Girl in support of our mission to raise awareness of the water crisis facing women and girls globally, and in Western Rajasthan, India where we serve.

How much of the money will go to WomenServe?
WomenServe is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, making all donations received tax-deductible. We work very hard to offset event and production expenses by soliciting sponsorships, donations and discounts for supplies. We’re grateful to our sponsors who have contributed to this event, making every dollar you raise go directly to programming.

What is the fundraising requirement?
There is no requirement, you can even walk without fundraising! We do rely on donations to continue our programs, and do encourage participants to raise $100, to help reach our goal.

Who can I contact for more information?
Reach out to our team at angela@womenserve.org if you have any questions. We’re happy to help!
