Raising funds for CHD research is critically important and personally very meaningful to our family. Our son, Izak, was born on July 16, 2018 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). To our surprise, he was not prediagnosed and our world changed forever that day.
Izak has already endured more in his two years of life than most of us ever will in a lifetime. Through one open-chest surgery, one open-heart surgery, catheterization, lymphangiogram and more - he's continued to battle his way and conquer CHD. Izak's journey is lifelong and he will continue to fight every day with more surgeries in his future.
HLHS is one of the most severe congenital heart diseases and currently there is no cure. With the help of skillful surgeons, doctors, technology, medicine, and RESEARCH, we are hopeful that Izak has a chance at a long life ahead.
