Welcome to Play for JA: Virtual 5K supporting the New Ulm Area!
Junior Achievement North (JA) envisions a world where young people have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities. JA programs align to three pathways: Financial Literacy, Career Readiness, and Entrepreneurship. Through a continuum of experiential learning opportunities, K-12 students acquire competencies needed to reach their full potential.
Beginning in the 2022-2023 program year, JA will strategically shift our program mix to focus on deeper program impact, stronger student outcomes, and increased percentages of systemically excluded student populations served.
What is a Virtual Race?
Virtual races are a way to stay connected with one another when you can't get together for an in-person race. A virtual race is one that you run or walk on your own, at any time of day. Virtual races allow you to run the race on any course in any place you like— country road, park path, treadmill. You are the boss!
This is an amazing way to stay fit, get a custom made sweat-wicking JA cooling cloth made by Fuel Graphics (first 150 registrants only), all while giving back to a good cause to make a difference for area students!
Once you have registered, please post a sweaty selfie after completing the 5K (3.1miles) with your time or run/walk app (optional) anytime between October 17th - 23rd! You can post your picture on your personal page (you will get one after registration) and/or on Facebook. If you post on Facebook, be sure to tag @JAnewulm in your post! You can walk, jog, run, split up the miles over a couple days...just complete the 5K at some point during that time frame and post your picture when it is done!
Let's run/walk and raise some money to keep our programming free to the schools and students so we can continue on with our mission where YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE THE SKILLSET AND MINDSET TO BUILD THRIVING COMMUNITIES!
