Thank you for joining Play for JA: Virtual 5k!! This is an amazing way to stay fit, get a custom made JA cooling cloth made by Fuel Graphics (first 150 applicants only), all while giving back to a good cause to make a difference!
What is a Virtual Race?
A virtual race is one that you run or walk on your own, at any time of day. Virtual races allow you to run the race on any course in any place you like— country road, park path, treadmill. You are the boss!
My name is Erica Kimsey and I am the District Manager for Junior Achievement in the New Ulm area! My job is to ensure all students in Sleepy Eye, New Ulm, Courtland, and Nicollet get to experience our sequential K-12 programming! These curriculums follow three specific pathways: Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, and Work/Career Readiness. All of this is more important than ever in the world we are currently living in! Our programs are delivered in the classroom or virtually by community volunteers, which connects the students to their communities! We work along side educators and offer all our programming to the schools and students at no cost to them! This is why you are here! By participating in this virtual run, you are providing the materials for one student ($30)! It takes a village to guide our youth to becoming financially successful adults. Thank you for being apart of this village!
Remember to post a sweaty selfie and your time/miles (optional) anytime between October 17-23 of your 5k (3.1 miles)! You can post your selfie here and/or on Facebook. If you post on Facebook, be sure to tag @JAnewulm! You can walk or run this event. You can even do more than one 5k and post about it! The point of the event is to raise money for our programming for our students while also getting some physical activity! Have fun with it! Invite your friends and family to join your team! Thank you for supporting Junior Achievement!
