At Keshet, inclusion is the number one priority and in our home it is too. We believe that everyone should feel a sense of belonging within their own community and there is no organization that does that better than Keshet. Children and adults with disabilities deserve and have every right to be part of the wider community in ways that they choose to be involved. Keshet provides the support for people to access opportunities to live full and meaningful lives in their home communities.
Rob's friend Doug lives in a Keshet MYLife residence where he lives independently, and participates in activities and experiences of his own choosing. Doug and Rob love talking about the important things in life: Chicago Bulls!
This summer, Evan started camp at Apachi - an experience she has been looking forward to for months! One of the deciding factors that led us to Apachi was their partnershp with Keshet and dedication to inclusion. Evan is seeing first-hand what an inclusive community looks like. Campers with and without disabilities do all camp activities together. Just in these first weeks of camp, we have had meaningful conversations about a camper on Evan's bus who uses a mobile seat. Our family is grateful that Evan is learning empathy, compassion and inclusion at such a young age and making so many new friends.
And, this spring, Rachael took her passion for ensuring everyone has equal access to community and opportunites to Keshet. Rachael hears the stories from families and participants about how Keseht has changed their lives every day. From elementary school to adult living, Keshet is there for it's families every step of the way.
