Our Keshet Story

When we think about Keshet, we think about family. For nearly 30 years, Keshet has provided warmth, belonging, and safety to our son, brother, and uncle, Ira. For so many, having a family member with intellectual disabilities can be terrifying. That is not the case when Keshet is involved. Keshet is always steps ahead, whether it is planning for adult programming as our family members age out of school, or having virtual programming up and running within days of a global pandemic.

As the world begins to reopen after a long and scary 15 months, we could not think of a better family to welcome individuals with disabilities with open arms. We do not have enough words to express our gratitude for the state-of-the-art programming and genuine love Keshet has provided Ira these over the past 30 years. His life, and all of our lives, are certainly more enriched because we are part of the Keshet family. Just as Keshet persisted amidst the pandemic, we hope that with your support, Keshet will continue to support individuals and families for decades to come.

This year, our family will be riding in the Keshet Junior Board’s Sweat for Keshet bike ride in honor of our favorite teammate, Ira. We are eternally grateful to those of you who continue to support Keshet year after year. We hope you will join us in supporting Sweat for Keshet and Keshet’s Forward 2021 campaign this summer.
