Let's Level UP STAR/PAL & UPLIFT San Diego!
Thank you for joining my efforts to raise funds for two of my favorite nonprofits! STAR/PAL and UPLIFT exist to make transformative impact in San Diego.I believe in both organizations wholeheartedly. My friend John Ball served as a Board Member for STAR/PAL for several years and his wife Monica has worked with UPLIFT for over 20 years. More importantly, I have witnessed with my own eyes and heart the incredible impact these groups have on the children and families they serve. Here are links to their websites so you can learn more:
About STAR/PAL -
Mission: to empower underserved youth to build a safer and more prosperous community by engaging with law enforcement in positive recreational activities and collaborative partners.
Objectives:
- Promote youth safety through crime & violence prevention education
- Cultivate youth empowerment through civic engagement & enrichment activities
- Offer youth programming in underserved communities
What we do:
STAR/PAL offers free programs for underserved and at-risk youth in San Diego that are led by law enforcement officers. These programs focus on violence prevention, mentoring, leadership, civic engagement, outdoor enrichment, and physical fitness. Our U.S. Bank Center to Serve Youth, located at Colina Del Sol Park in the heart of Mid-City, gives a community law enforcement presence that provides safety to hundreds of youth who walk to and from school each day. Every year, thousands of youth from inner-city neighborhoods throughout San Diego participate in our impactful programs.

UPLIFT URGENT COVID related needs include:
- funding for added staff & equipment for transitioning our FREE Kids At Heart Tutoring from site based to virtual platform to support distance learning for low income students, who are especially at risk of falling behind in school right now.
- flex funding for homeless housing support for COVID Convention Center residents' and homeless motel families' placement. About 1200 unsheltered there. No pressure!
