Thank you for joining my efforts to raise funds for UPLIFT through the Level UP San Diego 30 Day Virtual Team Challenge! We are making a transformative impact in the lives of our neighbors in need.
As Board President of UPLIFT I'm hosting the Level UP Team specifically benefitting the Student Services & Homeless Services of UPLIFT, for those who may prefer not to split their Level UP donation or fundraising efforts with another non-profit. Having served as a volunteer, donor, Board Member, and now Board President, I am deeply committed to our mission of transforming lives and communites with God's love.
In 1987 UPLIFT founder, Reverend Burton Smith and his wife, Audrey, witnessed the desperate lives of many inner-city residents. Burt and Audrey heeded the call and took action. UPLIFT was established as a non-profit, volunteer outreach ministry to serve the needs of children and the homeless in our community.
UPLIFT URGENT COVID related needs include funding for:
- transitioning our FREE Kids At Heart Tutoring from site based to virtual platform to support distance learning for low income students, who are especially at risk of falling behind in school right now.
- homeless housing support to help with COVID Convention Center resident placement. About 1200 unsheltered there. No pressure!
