I wanted to give a little background on myself…

The AIDS Committee of Simcoe County offered me the opportunity at the agency to complete one of two placements for my Bachelor of Social Work Degree. I wanted a placement that was LGBTQ friendly, and needless to say, I haven’t looked back since.

I completed my placement and then continued to volunteer. I was then offered to launch the LGBT Youth Connection Junior Group. From there, I was thrilled to know that I would be hired to be the Family and Youth Programs Coordinator… I couldn’t be more stoked. I absolutely love the work ACSC commits to and working with youth has served to be the most incredible experience.

Furthermore, I can see the gaps pertaining to LGBTQ youth support and funding. This is exactly why events such as this BOWL-A-THON are so important for LGBTQ youth advocacy. Without funding, such programs simply cannot exist.

COME OUT, HAVE FUN, SUPPORT, JOIN A TEAM… ANY OR ALL OF THESE! A little bit goes such a long way!
