My Personal Fundraising Page
Improving literacy skills changes lives. Imagine not being able to ask for directions, read a menu independently, or understand a doctor's instructions. Literacy instruction can help with day to day communication as well as larger achievements, like getting a better job, obtaining citizenship, or earning a high school equivalency certificate.
In the past year, Literacy New Jersey helped nearly 1,500 adults improve their literacy skills through free ESL, basic literacy, citizenship, and GED classes.
Literacy New Jersey also recruits and trains volunteers to help with this effort. As training director, it is my personal mission to make sure interested volunteers have the skills and support to be of service to the adults struggling in their community. In the coming year, we hope to train over 200 new volunteers with day and evening tutor training classes offered online throughout the year.
Thank you for helping us sustain this important effort!
