Majestic Madalyn

Christmas day 2016 we revealed that we would be having our first baby, and SHE would be arriving May, 2017.  My husband Brian and I were thrilled as well as our families, we couldn't wait to meet our sweet baby girl.  My pregnancy went smoothly and we never had any concerns.  The last weekend in April, mama went into full nesting mode washing all of our little girls adorable clothes, cleaning the house top to bottom, and putting final touches on the nursery, we were READY to meet our daughter.  Sunday April 30th, my husband arrived home from his 24 hour shift at work, I told him that I had been busy Saturday and hadn't felt her move as much as she normally did.  He assured me everything was fine, but I had a feeling it wasn't.  My husband kissed me goodbye and said "I'm going to the store I'll be right back", he returned home with a fetal monitor which we attempted to use to no avail, so we decided to call the on call OBGYN, they gave us a few things to try to do to stimulate her, all of which made no change in her movement.  At this point, we decided to head into Riverside where we planned to deliver our daughter.  I will never forget the image of our angel on screen when the staff told us, "I'm sorry she has no heartbeat".  We were devestated, heartbroken, and in shock.  Our families arrived to be with us during labor.  I was induced Sunday evening, labored for 36 hours with little progression and started to spike a fever, so at just past midnight on Tuesday May 2, 2017 our precious angel Madalyn Rae was delivered via c-section.  Her little face, fingers, and toes were perfect and she had a beautiful head of curly hair, but her umbilical cord was narrowed and partially clotted off and after further genetic testing, we discovered that our sweet girl also had Down's Syndrome.  We were able to spend the next few days with our daughter and captured beautiful photos with her thanks to the amazing hospital staff and NILMDTS.  We were also able to baptize her before we said our final goodbyes, which was the hardest thing I have ever had to endure.  Our journey through grief and healing was difficult, but we knew that we wanted to try to grow our family again.  We found out that we were expecting our rainbow baby girl just after the New Year 2018, and delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl Aubree Rae on Friday September 7th, 2018.  We feel very blessed, and know that our sweet angel Majestic Madalyn is watching over us all and forever in our hearts.
