My decision to work for Momentum Bike Clubs was a last minute one! I am so happy that I decided on Momentum for my summer internship. At first, I was not sure what I was getting myself into. I knew I would be working with a youth program to help foster positive development among kids in underserved areas. But, Momentum Bike Clubs is so much more. Not only has my biking experience dramatically improved, but I have also created strong friendships with the kids that I work with. I love how Momentum can be an escape for a lot of the kids from whatever is on their minds at home. I know that what I am teaching them, can go towards helping these kids be successful in their future endeavors. Therefore, I want to do everything I can to also help Safe Harbor. I was not aware of what Safe Harbor did before I started working at Momentum. However, I have come to learn so much about the program. I want to help Safe Harbor raise funds and awareness because I know that many women and children are victims of abuse and stuck in households in which they cannot escape. I want to raise money to help those regain their happiness and feel safe in their environments. I want people to sponsor my bike ride so that together we can help those who are struggling. No amount is too small to help those in need!
