MT Hearts Memorial Foundation was created in loving memory of Marlene Tobin, a longtime Citrus County resident, devoted teacher, lifelong athlete and deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Marlene faced metastatic triple-negative breast cancer with incredible courage and strength before passing away on June 11, 2026.

On June 19, 2027, we will gather at Citrus High School in Inverness, Florida, for the inaugural MT Hearts Memorial 5K Run, 1-Mile Walk & Virtual Race. The event will bring family, friends, runners and members of our community together to celebrate Marlene’s life, preserve her memory and continue her legacy of caring for others.
