An estimated 137 million Americans struggled with medical debt in 2019. In fact, High health-care bills are the No. 1 reason people would consider taking money out of their retirement accounts or filing for bankruptcy.
Microsoft News For Good is partnering with RIP Medical Debt to provide relief to Americans whose medical bills put them on the brink. By purchasing debt in bundled portfolios at a low price, this nonprofit organization is able to multiply the impact of your donation by 100 times. That means for every $100 donated, $10,000 in medical debt is erased.
RIP uses data analytics to identify those most in need. These individuals and families then receive a letter in the mail informing them that their debt is gone.
