NEC Day Fundraising BBQ!
NEC Day Fundraising BBQ with the NEC Society!
Join Julie and Reid as they fundraise for a world without necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in honor of their son, Brooks, who tragically passed away from NEC.
NEC is a devastating intestinal disease that can affect babies in their first weeks to months of life.
Brooks was born prematurely at 23.5 weeks, weighing 1 lb 4 oz. He overcame challenges early on and then thrived for months in the NICU. Julie and Reid could see the path to bringing their precious son home. Devastatingly, just a few weeks after his original due date, Brooks developed NEC. Brooks tragically passed away from NEC in his loving parents’ arms.
Julie and Reid have partnered with the NEC Society in honor of Brooks since 2017, helping to raise NEC awareness and advance research, education, and advocacy so we can build a world without this disease.
May is NEC Awareness Month and May 17 is NEC Awareness Day. Join Julie and Reid in honoring Brooks by supporting the NEC Society, the world’s leading nonprofit dedicated to preventing necrotizing enterocolitis.
