Dear friends,

I’m taking on a big challenge—golfing 100 holes in one day—to raise money in the fight against cancer. I’m doing this in honor of my grandfather who is currently battling leukemia, former camp director Bill Lawrence, Malia Jusczyk, and Bob McKinley. Both showed strength, kindness, and resilience, and this day on the course is my way of honoring them and everyone who has had to face this disease.

Cancer affects all of us in some way—through family, friends, coworkers, or people we admire. If you’re able, I’d be incredibly grateful for a donation to support research, care, and hope for those currently fighting and for future generations. LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA is a physical activity program designed for adult cancer survivors who have become deconditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. The goal is to help participants build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. The program is 12-weeks in length and meets twice a week for 1.5 hours and includes a 12-week YMCA family membership. Equally as important as the physical improvements, are the relationships and emotional support system created among the participants throughout the program.
