Almost four and a half years ago and two days before I was supposed to run a 50k, I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. After two months of radiation and oral chemo, followed by six months of double chemo (oral and infusion) I was found cancer free. Now over three and a half years cancer free, still dealing with side effects and after overly-extensive testing a 90% blockage was found in my LAD. I had a catheterization and stent placement at the end of August and now at the beginning of cardiac therapy, I am FINALLY feeling better AND FINALLY celebrating being cancer free. Still not myself, and doubtfully will I ever be 100%, but I am FINALLY feeling better. Yesterday on November 1, I began running again! As many of you know and participated in, throughout my cancer ordeal I raised thousands of dollars for cancer organizations. Now, again, if you care to, I am asking you to donate any amount small or big to a cancer organization that is helping to find a cure and assisting patients, like me, going thru this horrendous ordeal.
