I am joining with No Shave November to raise awareness and funding for cancer research. We are all touched by cancer in our lifetimes. For me, my aunt died of breast cancer at a young age. My father had B-cell lymphoma that was successfully treated, but it damaged his heart and led to his premature death from congestive heart disease. My mother had breast cancer (cured). I have had malignant melanoma (detected and treated) and numerous basal cell carcinomas. My friend Dave died of prostate cancer last year. My wife’s uncles (x2) have had prostate cancer. I have several friends with lymphomas, myelomas, skin and breast cancers. And I consider myself lucky. Many of these cancers, sadly not all, were detected and successfully treated.
