This November, I’m joining the team at Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) for "No Shave November", a global movement that uses a little fun (and a lot of hair) to raise awareness and funds for cancer prevention, research, and support.

As a Colorectal Cancer Survivor, this year I began volunteering as a Research Advocate for the nonprofit Fight CRC! through their Research Advocacy Training and Support (RATS) program - which empowers and trains colorectal cancer research advocates to become the most educated patient voices at research tables.

I have personally benefitted from both the research that made my treatments possible, and the support system provided by nonprofits like Man Up to Cancer (MUTC).  I'm volunteering to help fund the research and support programs that will benefit many others like me who must battle CRC!

Many people don’t realize that colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second deadliest cancer in the U.S. — but it’s also one of the most preventable. Early detection and continued research are key, and that’s why this campaign matters.

Through our team, “Hair We Go RATS!”, we’re raising funds that will help Fight CRC:

1) ? Support Man Up to Cancer’s “Gathering of the Wolves”, the largest men’s cancer retreat ever organized… (which I personally attended in 2025!)

2)? Advance research through the Early Age Onset CRC Global Think Tank, uniting 75+ experts from 23 countries to understand and address the rise of CRC in younger adults.

3)? Empower survivors through Colon Camp, a retreat that helps young adults heal and reconnect after cancer treatment.
