LET’S GO OVER THE EDGE FOR MY BIRTHDAY
Sooo, I have a RiDiCuLoUs fear of heights. Something I surprisingly learned 20yrs ago as I was atop a 60FT tall "rock" somewhere off the Greek Islands, just seconds before I threw my body into the air for a "fun time" of cliff jumping. At least Over The Edge involves rappelling off a 96FT building in South Bend. AND it's how I'd like to celebrate my 43rd birthday!!!
Im love this nonprofit and it's important we help with their mission, as they help troubled youth who need someone to care about them - something so basic we all deserve! Someone to gently walk up to them, smile, and give them a long intentional STRONG HUG. Someone to tell them they understand life is tough. Someone to listen. Someone to tell them they are important and valued. Someone to let them know it's okay to not be okay. Someone to teach them how to process what they're feeling and encourage them to have a voice. Someone to help with healthy coping mechanisms and let them know there is HOPE. Someone who tells them to just breathe and take it one day at a time. AND that everything will be okay!
Many of these kids are abused, neglected, and on the edge of homelessness. Let's help give them hope for a brighter future! With school violence and mental health concerns on the rise, these kids need us!
