As part of my Bar Mitzvah Project, I’m participating in this year’s Walk/Run for Hope 5K to raise money for Our House. Our House is an organization that provides the community with grief support services, education, resources and hope. My Uncle Nick died 8 years ago and it was heartbreaking for both me and my family. My cousins Dash and Noa lost their dad at a very young age. Joining Our House helped them connect with other kids who had been through a similar experience, and it made them feel supported. Noa has become more involved over the years and is now helping other young children experiencing similar trauma. My cousins are inspiring. This will be my third time running this race and I am looking forward to honoring my Uncle Nick and having a fun day.
