Marion Cultural Alliance, which I am a board member has partnered with Over the Edge (OTE), the only urban rappelling event in the world to help us raise funds for the arts and help us climb closer to our fundraising goal. As a lifelong horsewoman and 43 years a citizen of Ocala/Marion County, I have seen the equine industry and arts community change and grow over the years and all for the betterment of our county. Horses have long been an integral part of mankind and our development into our modern age. starting from Prehistory and Ancient World as seen in cave art found all over the world. This importance shows in the development of the American west, the horse’s immeasurable value to our military, farming, hunting and even to modern day mounted police horses have always been relied upon for survival and entertainment.
