Palestine Emergency ○ Tampa Grand Team
This Ramadan, I'm helping the IRUSA Tampa Grand Iftar, which will take place in Tampa on Friday, March 15th, inshallah. As we prepare for this meaningful event, my goal is to raise funds to support the people in Gaza, who are in desperate need of our help.
The funds we raise together will be used to provide:
This Ramadan, you have the opportunity to multiply your rewards by helping those who need it the most. Whether you're able to attend the event or not, your donation can make a significant impact on the lives of many in Gaza.
Please join me in this cause by making a donation. Your support will not only help meet our fundraising goal but will also provide crucial aid to families and children facing immense challenges in Gaza.
If you decide you can make it and want to experience an unforgettable evening of community, reflection, and support for a noble cause, get your tickets for the Tampa Grand Iftar here.
Violence has escalated after months of ongoing tension across the region. Over 35,000 people have been killed and thousands more have been injured or deemed missing. In Gaza specifically, a ‘total blockade’ is in place, completely cutting off the 2 million civilians from access to food, electricity, and fuel.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says at least 1 of 4 households are facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity, the highest level of warning; the total number of housing units destroyed or damaged accounts for over 60% of all housing units in Gaza; and more than 90% of the population has been displaced with hundreds of thousands of people sleeping in the open with inadequate clothing to fight the cold.
The attack on the health system has been particularly devastating. The World Health Organization (WHO) says 15 out of 36 of Gaza’s hospitals are partially functional, facing challenges with the shortage of medical staff and lack of essential medical supplies. They also shared that more people will die of disease if we’re not able to put the health system back together and provide people with the basics of life.
While issues related to the delivery of humanitarian aid persist, IRUSA partners are continuing to work on the following interventions:
Our partners are also continuing to work on the procurement and stockpiling of water, food and non-food items, and medical supplies, to be delivered once a pathway for humanitarian aid is established.
$100 can provide essential food aid to a family
$250 helps build rehabilitation centers to serve children with disabilities
$500 can help provide medical assistance in Palestine
For decades, our legacy in the country has grown to help hundreds of thousands of people every year with programs that provide livelihood support for farmers, help vulnerable children, and more. With your continued support, IRUSA can provide more relief for people in need.
