Why We're Walking:

In 2004 my dad died due to cancer, after a long illness. It was an experience that illuminated what an enormous gift palliative care volunteers give in sharing their time and kindness, and how meaningful the work of the Never Alone Cancer Foundation is.

In 2020 I began fostering with Spirit of Hope Rescue after my little black dog, Belly, died of CHF at the age of 15. Not too long after beginning to foster for SOHR, along came another little black dog, Maude, who has been a joy to have through this challenging year. Her deep enthusiasm for all things is contagious and keeps me laughing. Although I haven’t fostered a great number of dogs, it's a pleasure to do what I can to help. Maude has helped two foster sisters along on their journey, and I hope life will allow us to welcome more into our home. It has been wonderful to be a part of SOHR, to see how much those who volunteer give, and to experience the joy of so many dogs finding people to love them.

I am happy to help support two organizations that work to provide care to those who need it, during times that can be difficult, disorienting, and lonely.

Please donate if you're able. Any amount is a good amount.
