UDPATE Sun 30 Jan - THIS KID JUST DOES NOT KNOW WHEN TO STOP!

Hi! This is Jen, I'm Daniel's mom. Daniel started fundraising in early January with a goal of $75. We worked together, creating donation-request cards with a QR code, and he handed them out everywhere he could while I put out appeals on social media and at work.

We made that first goal, and stretched to $300, four times as much... and we made it!

I asked Daniel if he was ready to settle for that, but he said "No!" and wanted to raise more so we set a new goal for $500 and we're in sight of that with about 2 weeks left to go!

We've been sidelined this week due to Coronavirus in the house, but just as soon as he can, Daniel will be handing out those donation-request cards again. I'm still working my network.

On the day of the walk, Daniel has plans to finish a "Citizenship in the Community" merit badge before he heads to Lake Eola.  As part of that badge he needs to:
a. Identify three charitable organizations outside of Scouting that interest you and bring people in your community together to work for the good of your community.
b . Pick ONE of the organizations you chose for requirement 7a. Using a variety of resources (including newspapers, fliers and literature, the Internet, volunteers, and employees of the
organization), find out more about this organization.
c. With your counselor’s and your parent’s approval, contact the organization you chose ... and find out what young people can do to help.
d. While working on this merit badge, volunteer at least eight hours of your time for the organization.

How perfect is that!?!? He'll go from a merit badge workshop to Lake Eola to volunteer his time as part of the requirements, since he's chosen Pet Alliance to be that organization.

As part of his walk, we will be taking and posting photos and videos to engage with our donors and others in real time. Anyone who donates WILL recieve a print or digital hand-made 'thank you' note from Daniel! Believe his mother, these are RARE pieces...

Daniel has learned a lot in the course of this effort about community, the rewards of volunteerism, how to network, and how -anyone- can make a different in the world around them.

Thank you for your time, and please consider supporting him?

I am participating in Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando's 2022 Paws in the Park because I care about dogs and cats!

All of the money raised at Paws in the Park will go directly to helping the more than 5,000 dogs and cats that will enter the shelter this year. Pet Alliance provides them with shelter, food and lots of love while they wait to find their forever home. Pet Alliance also assists thousands of pets and pet owners each year through its Pet Food Pantry and veterinary clinics.

Your support will mean so much and truly help the animals most in need in Central Florida.

Thank you!
