Join us for Central PA's New Year's Day Tradition!

"Plunge" into the New Year with the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area. Celebrating its 29th year, the Penguin Plunge is a signature fundraising event to support animals in need. Participants register in advance to raise funds, then gather on New Year's Day to jump into the icy cold Susquehanna River. Hundreds more come to cheer on these animal welfare warriors!

Register now, then join us for a fun day for the animals. You can fundraise and Plunge as an individual or create a team of friends, family, or coworkers. Fundraise in honor of your pet or pick your favorite pet from our shelter. Registration is $40.00, and includes an exclusive event beach towel.

Online Registration is now closed. Still want to Plunge? You can register at the event! Check In/Registration begins at 10am.  The Plunge into the water is Noon, so give yourself plenty of time to get to the island, registered, and ready to get wet!
